Responsible Wool

Mulesing-free wool

Wool is a fantastic material with a wide range of beneficial properties, but unfortunately, not all wool is produced with animal welfare in mind.

Our wool therefore comes from certified responsible farms where the well-being of the animals is central. Among other things, this means that the animals must be free from hunger, thirst, discomfort, fear, pain, injury, and disease, and that they must have the freedom to express natural behaviour.

Therefore, for example, mulesing is not allowed.
In addition, requirements are placed on the management of the agricultural land where the animals live, including in relation to protecting soil health and biodiversity.

Why is mulesing-free certification important?

Mulesing-free certification is important as it ensures that lambs are not subjected to painful and unnecessary procedures.

It guarantees that products come from ethically responsible farms where animal welfare is a priority. By choosing mulesing-free, you support animal well-being and responsible production.

What is Merino Wool?

Merino wool comes from the merino sheep. It is a natural wool product. Compared to regular wool, merino wool is both softer and thinner than regular wool. Merino wool is therefore an incredibly luxurious material that is temperature-regulating and does not absorb sweat odor - Furthermore, merino wool does not itch.

Our Vera collection consists of 100% Mulesing free Merino wool. This means that the wool is shorn under organized conditions that do not harm the sheep.
It is temperature-regulating, dirt and water repellent. Merino wool is incredibly light and soft to wear. So it is equally suitable for everyday wear at the office or relaxing on the sofa.
